About Us - Built by people who have been there

Archangel Centers was not founded by investors looking for a market opportunity. It was built by Mike and Lauren Sorrentino, two people in recovery who earned their clinical credentials because they wanted to be useful, not just symbolic. This is their mission.

Archangel Centers was co-founded by Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, a Nationally Certified Motivational Interventionist with 9 years of sobriety, and Lauren Sorrentino, also an NCMI. CEO Samantha Hewett (CRRA, NCMI) leads operations alongside Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Joseph Milisitz, PhD, and Program Director Trevor Eyerkuss.

What Makes Archangel Centers Different

Founded by people in recovery

Mike and Lauren Sorrentino are both Nationally Certified Motivational Interventionists with lived experience in addiction and recovery. This is not a management team that studied the problem. They lived it.

Clinical depth behind the mission

CEO Samantha Hewett (CRRA, NCMI) and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Joseph Milisitz (PhD, 39+ years) provide the clinical infrastructure behind the recovery mission. Evidence-based programming, clinical compliance, licensed staff.

Patients name their therapists, their counselors, and the program director by first name in their reviews. That does not happen at a facility where the clinical team is interchangeable. It happens here.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino

Co-Founder, Recovery Ambassador | NCMI

9 years sober3M+ InstagramNCMI certified

Mike Sorrentino is a Nationally Certified Motivational Interventionist (NCMI), co-founder of Archangel Centers, and a person in long-term recovery from addiction since December 2015. He is nearly 10 years sober.

Most people know him from 6 seasons on MTV's Jersey Shore. What the cameras did not always show was the battle happening off-screen. By the time Mike entered treatment, he had hit a wall that neither money nor fame could fix. He got honest, got help, and got sober.

He earned his NCMI certification. He wrote a memoir about recovery, "Reality Check: Making the Best of the Situation" (2023). He built an audience of 3 million on Instagram and used that platform to actually say something: that recovery is real and does not require a celebrity's resources to deserve.

I came back. So can you.

Lauren Sorrentino is a Nationally Certified Motivational Interventionist and co-founder of Archangel Centers. She co-built this center because she knows what addiction does to a family, because she watched it up close, and she chose to do something about it.

Lauren is active in community engagement and recovery support programming. Her NCMI certification reflects the same commitment to the clinical dimension of recovery that drives Mike's involvement. She is not a figurehead. She shows up.

Samantha Hewett is CEO of Archangel Centers, holding dual certifications as a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA) and Nationally Certified Motivational Interventionist (NCMI). She was present at the center's launch in September 2024 and led execution of the grand opening in November 2025.

Her CRRA credential reflects specific expertise in recovery housing operations, making her the right person to oversee the Way House alongside Archangel's outpatient programming. She oversees the facility's operations, clinical compliance, and clinical staff.

PhD39+ years clinical experienceChief Clinical Officer

Dr. Joseph Milisitz is the Chief Clinical Officer of Archangel Centers with over 39 years of clinical experience in mental health and addiction treatment. He serves as the senior clinical authority for the center's treatment protocols, evidence-based programming, and clinical compliance.

Dr. Milisitz brings academic and clinical depth to a center built on lived experience. The combination matters: recovery ambassadors who have been through addiction and a clinical officer who has spent four decades treating it.

Program DirectorVeritas Recovery alumnusPersonal recovery: 10+ years sober

Trevor Eyerkuss is Program Director at Archangel Centers and, by every account from patients who have been through the program, the person you meet when you walk in. He co-created the programming at Archangel alongside Mike Sorrentino.

Before this, he served as Associate Director of Operations at Veritas Recovery. He holds a BS from Hofstra University. What his resume does not say: Trevor spent over a decade in his own addiction before finding recovery. He built his career from the other side of the intake desk. When patients say he understands what they are going through, they are not wrong.

"From the first day, I knew this place was different. Trevor is the head, and he shows up like it." - John D., Google Review

Our Clinical Team

The clinical work at Archangel Centers is done by licensed counselors and therapists. Individual therapy, group sessions, and case management are led by credentialed staff whose full profiles will appear here as they authorize public disclosure.

Patients consistently name Christina (individual therapist) and Geraldine (senior staff) in reviews. Both are described as attentive, skilled, and genuinely present. We take that seriously, and we are committed to publishing the full clinical team credentials as quickly as possible.
