What Is Way House?

Way House is a structured sober living community connected to Archangel Centers clinical programming. Adults who enroll in our PHP or IOP can live at Way House, giving them a safe, substance-free home environment while they do the clinical work of recovery during the day or evening.

This model, often called "residential-level intensity without residential cost," gives clients the structure they need in early recovery without the limitations of a locked inpatient unit. You attend programming, return to a supportive house community, and begin practicing real-world recovery skills from day one.

Way House and clinical programming are coordinated by the same Archangel Centers team. Your house staff and clinical staff communicate. You don't fall through the cracks.

Who Way House Is For

Way House is the right choice if any of these describes your situation:

Home environment is not safe for recovery

If your home includes people who use substances, or environments that trigger use, returning home during PHP or IOP is a clinical risk. Way House eliminates that risk.

No stable housing nearby

For adults traveling to Archangel Centers from out of area, or those without a stable NJ residence, Way House provides a base for your treatment stay.

Stepping down from residential treatment

Coming out of inpatient or residential rehab? Way House paired with PHP or IOP gives you a structured bridge before transitioning to fully independent living.

Wants peer accountability

Early recovery is harder in isolation. Way House puts you alongside others who are doing the same work, building the peer connections that sustain sobriety long-term.

Needs structure outside of treatment hours

PHP runs 5 to 6 hours per day. IOP runs 3 to 5 hours per day. The remaining hours matter. Way House provides structure, curfews, and accountability for the full 24-hour cycle.

Family needs a reset too

Some clients benefit from time away from family systems while everyone heals. Way House creates that space without breaking family connection, and family therapy is part of our programming.
